Below is a list of junior miners focused on different metals, which brings diversification, that I think would make up a pretty low risk Commodities HODL-portfolio. Majority of names have resources on the books or at least they have a confirmed discovery or two. Only one pre-discovery micro cap company is included. A portfolio like this might not outperform a very risky portfolio but I would be very surprised if it does not greatly outperform lets say the GDXJ the next 3 years without any real trading. Note that I own shares of most companies and some are banner sponsors. Thus assume I am biased and do your own due diligence.

Ideal characteristics:

  1. Margin of Safety
  2. Long pipeline of potential growth
  3. Skin in the game
  4. Competent management team
  5. Vote of confidence from larger company
