Altamira Gold (ALTA:V): Message from the CEO
Hi Everyone Today we announced scout drill results from the Morro Verde prospect, located north of the Cajueiro mineral resource. Drill hole MRV003 intersected 8m @ 3.5 g/t gold from 176m depth, including 1m @ 15.4g/t gold within a new porphyry body Mike´s comments are as follows; This higher -grade gold drill intercept is a big step forward in our understanding of the area between the two mineral resources of Maria Bonita and the Central Area. Following from the recent porphyry discovery at Tavares Norte, we have now confirmed another mineralized porphyry body at Morro Verde. As we have stated in previous press releases, we believe that this is part of a Porphyry District and with our initial drilling we can now see that three mineralized porphyry bodies, Maria Bonita, Tavares Norte and Morro Verde are all aligned in an east-west corridor, some 6.5 kilometers in length. This intial drilling at Tavares Norte and Morro Verde is the start we had hoped for and will require follow-up drilling in both areas. The one metre high-grade interval of 15.4 g/t gold is in the top 10 of our best intercepts so far in over 22,000 metres of drilling at Cajueiro. It is also important to remember that within this east-west corridor we also have two other target areas; Mombaque and Guillermo, which have not yet been drill tested and that in total we have 11 target areas to test within the 15 kilometer central part of our claim block. Future drilling in the next few months using the two drill rigs that are now on site, will be focused on expanding the mineral resources in Maria Bonita and in the Central Area, while continuing to test the various regional targets such as Tavares Norte, Morro Verde, Mombaque, Guillermo and Serfim.
