As a long-time, now retired, management consultant, what “scares” me the most about Novo is that Quinton is consulting in many projects outside of Novo. In other words, his focus and time is being diluted by projects that Novo is not an investor in at the moment

It is not just one additional project like NewFound Gold (which Novo has an equity position in) but rather many others like Lion One Metals in Fiji, Irving Resources in Japan, Eskay Mining, Firefox Gold in Finland, Labrador Gold in NewFoundland, etc. I would like to explicitly have it explained by him how these other consulting roles don’t undermine his time spent on furthering Novo.

Quinton has said that he’s a geologist, not a company manager – I think a better way to look at him is as a holder of ETFs where he does his diligence on the property, hires good managers and trusts them to do their job – that’s their competency. If this is correct, I would rather him being the Chair than the CEO. Its not like this is his first rodeo – he has been around for a very long time and has his own feel for how things are going from a macro point of view. Big time delegator – sure, seems to work for him and other than CRUX, haven’t seen many newletter writers raising flags about performance.
